Before joining the Colorado Symphony, Philip appeared in guest roles with the Houston Symphony and the Houston Grand Opera. Philip is also an avid chamber musician, and specializes in new music. He has worked with several composers to premier new works across the country. His most recent collaboration is a soundtrack recording to the silent film, Cinderella (1922), with composer Karim Al-Zand.
Philip is also passionate about education and was involved in the young children’s division of Rice University’s JUMP! program as well as a guest lecturer of brass technique for the Houston School for Performing and Visual Arts. He also served as the Adjunct Professor of Trumpet at Houston Baptist University.
When not playing trumpet, Philip spends his time hiking and traveling with his wife, Melissa. To escape the Southern heat, Philip has visited Colorado every year from an early age to enjoy another one of his favorite hobbies - skiing.
