Ms. Yun has been a participant of the London Masterclasses with Ralph Kirshbaum and has also played in masterclasses for Janos Starker, Gregor Horsch (principal cellist of the Concertgebouw), and Andres Diaz. She served as principal cellist of both the Tanglewood Music Center and Pacific Music Festival and has been a scholarship recipient of the Lucerne, Norfolk, and Banff Festivals. She has been principal of the Sarasota Orchestra, guest assoc. principal of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, and has performed Schumann's cello concerto as soloist with the New World Symphony.
A native of Boston, Ms. Yun began her studies at age four. She was a featured soloist of her youth orchestra's tour of England/Ireland, making her debut in Birmingham’s Symphony Hall and receiving headlining reviews of being "just enchanting" by the Birmingham Post. She went on to receive degrees from Northwestern University with honors and the Cleveland Institute of Music as a student of Hans Jorgan Jensen and Desmond Hoebig.
