Works by Berlioz and Colorado Symphony principal timpanist William Hill open this concert that concludes with Bartók’s last great orchestral work. Commissioned by the famed conductor Serge Koussevitzky, it was premiered by the Boston Symphony to great success and has been an audience favorite ever since.
