Andrea Levine

 

A native of Queens, New York, Andrea Levine is currently on leave from her position as the principal clarinetist of the Louisville Orchestra in Kentucky, a position she has held since 2003. Prior to moving to Louisville, she spent a year as a member of the New World Symphony in Miami. Levine completed her undergraduate degree at the Eastman School of Music and later earned a Professional Studies diploma from the Cleveland Institute of Music. While in Cleveland, she also served as principal of the Akron Symphony. She won the position of interim second clarinet of the Cleveland Orchestra for the 2007/08 season and during that time, joined them on two European tours. She has also participated in the Tanglewood, Sarasota, Kent-Blossom and Chatauqua Music Festivals. Levine has been featured as a soloist with the Louisville Orchestra on the works of Debussy, Rossini and Mozart, and is scheduled to solo with them again during the 2011/12 season.  She currently serves on the faculty of Campbellsville University and maintains a private studio. When not in Denver she resides in Louisville with her boyfriend Jack, their cat Roscoe and dog Buddy.
