David Brussel

David joined the Colorado Symphony horn section in 1982, after playing in the Charlotte Symphony and Atlantic Symphony of Halifax, Nova Scotia. He holds degrees from the Oberlin Conservatory and Northwestern University, where he studied with Dale Clevenger. He has performed and recorded with a number of local classical and jazz ensembles, including the Central City Opera and the Boulder Brass, and has taught at the University of Georgia, Metro State College, and Colorado State University. He has a deep interest in opera, and has conducted several operatic productions in the area. He is currently Music Director of the Broomfield Civic Orchestra and of the Melomania Ensemble, a medical students' and doctors' orchestra at University Hospital in Aurora. You can hear him on piano at the Mercury Cafe in Denver, and at Highland Christian Church on Sunday mornings.
