Mark Lamprey
Mark studied violin with Aaron Rosand and chamber music with William Primrose. He came to Denver in 1976 from Richmond, Virginia where he was Principal Second in the Richmond Sinfonia. After graduating from Indiana University, he spent his military service as a member of the elite US Army Strings, with whom he played many times at the White House. Over the years he has worked with top popular and classical artists, including Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Ray Charles, Henry Mancini, Itzhak Perlman, Isaac Stern, the Guarneri Quartet, and Yo-Yo Ma. When not playing the violin, Mark enjoys cooking, pool and billiards, the theater, movies, writing, and his two ocicats Andrei and Sasha. His wife Lucia and daughter Karen are both Denver lawyers.
