Patrick Tillery

Associate Principal

Associate Principal Trumpet Patrick Tillery joined the Colorado Symphony in 1991. He comes from Edgewood, Kentucky and received his Bachelor of Music from the University of Louisville and his Masters of Music from The Ohio State University. His teachers were Leon Rapier of the Louisville Orchestra and Philip Collins of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. He has played with the Columbus Symphony, Louisville Orchestra, San Diego Symphony, National Repertory Orchestra and the National Orchestral Institute. He can be heard on First Edition Records, ProArte Label and Naxos. Gustav Mahler is his favorite composer. His non-musical interests include camping, fishing, railroad history and model railroads. Patrick has published several articles in railroad books and national magazines. He and his wife Kristin have three children, Katherine, Rachel and Brian.
