Award-winning sopranos, tributes to icons, and a year-long celebration of Beethoven highlight the announce of the Colorado Symphony’s 2019-2020 season.

While performing the entire track list of The Soft Bulletin, the Flaming Lips and the Colorado Symphony wove a musical tapestry creating a unique and special evening at Boettcher Concert Hall. 

There are key moments in music history that all together manage to change the paradigm of music as a whole. The pairing of The Flaming Lips and the Colorado Symphony was one of those moments that people will recall with similar fondness as the band and orchestra took the audience through an array of emotions through its merging of classical components and contemporary sonic splendor.

There were a lot of moving parts when the Flaming Lips teamed up with the Colorado Symphony to perform the 1999 album The Soft Bulletin in its entirety at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in 2016. 

The Colorado Symphony and the city of Denver signed an agreement that could lead to a new concert hall for the orchestra, either on land within the current arts complex or another site elsewhere in the city.
