We have mourned the loss of our usual Red Rocks summer as COVID-19 caused Colorado to shut down crowded events. At a moment when most people had come to terms with the necessary precautions following the pandemic, the Colorado Symphony announced a new acoustic series at the famous monoliths to pacify the withdrawals.  The Colorado Symphony will premiere an acoustic series of performances at Red Rocks from July 29 – August 2 with social distancing measures and limited ticketing.

There will be concerts at Red Rocks this summer after all, as the Colorado Symphony performs a five-night acoustic series at the legendary amphitheater. The symphony announced today that it will present “Acoustic on the Rocks” from July 29 to Aug. 2, the first live concerts for both Red Rocks and the Colorado Symphony since the start of the pandemic in March. Tickets sales are open to the public on AXS.com, and the event will have limited seating to adhere to coronavirus restrictions.

The first concerts to be hosted at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre in months will be five nights of acoustic performances from the Colorado Symphony. The symphony on Friday announced its "Acoustic on the Rocks" series – five classical performances led by Resident Conductor Christopher Dragon that will take place from July 29 to Aug. 2.

This is not a drill: The Colorado Symphony will offer the first large-scale concerts at Red Rocks Amphitheatre since Winter on the Rocks. The five shows — the first entirely acoustic concerts on the main stage of the venue in decades — will start Wednesday, July 29, and run through Sunday, August 2, with Christopher Dragon conducting a group of twenty musicians playing a repertoire of classics.
