Just in time for a post-Oscars internet feeding frenzy on the film, the Colorado Symphony has announced it will perform a live score alongside a screening of the Oscar-lauded “La La Land” this summer.

The symphony is set to perform the live score alongside a screening for the musical on July 12 and 14 at the Boettcher Concert Hall.

Mitchell steps into the role as number one with the Colorado Symphony September 9, when he begins his new job as music director in Denver.

Stewart Copeland, drummer and co-founder of the Police, wants people to know that if they see him and the Colorado Symphony perform Tyrant’s Crush, his concerto for trap set and orchestra, this weekend, that “they can make as much noise as they want. This ain’t Mahler.”
