The Colorado Symphony is tightening their bow strings; not because they're preparing to defend Helm's Deep from an army of Orcs, but rather to bring the exciting and thrilling music of video games and pop culture to life once more. 

Juno Concerto (Rounder Records) is a piece for banjo and orchestra, recorded in March 2016 with the Colorado Symphony, conducted by Jose Luiz Gome.

Colorado Symphony has announced its program schedule for the 2017/18 season, which will include a performance from world-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma in December, a press release said.

The Colorado Symphony released its 2017-18 season schedule today. Some big names -- including soprano Renee Fleming and cellist Yo-Yo Ma -- are set to perform at Boettcher Concert Hall. And conductor Brett Mitchell will assume full-time duties as the orchestra’s new music director.

First, the Colorado Symphony showed it’s ready to draw in younger audiences by bringing in a music director under 40; now, it’s taking on “La La Land” and a little “Purple Rain” as part of a stellar 2017-18 season.
