Because no institution is immune to Star Wars hype and John Williams is a national treasure, the Colorado Symphony Orchestra has added “The Music of Star Wars” to its 2016-17 season.

His last album was recorded with the Colorado Symphony, and the single from that album, “Liars,” has been backed up by the swelling crescendos of violins and cellos...

Drifting into a different world, sonically filled with both emotion and precision, classical music spans time to share one’s talent to another. This past weekend, the Colorado Symphony played great works from Beethoven, including the 7th Symphony and Piano Concerto No. 3, with pianist Stephen Hough as the soloist. 

"The Denver market is very unique because we have the crown jewel of venues in our backyard -- being Red Rocks. Many artists, they want to play in one of the world’s best outdoor music amphitheaters -- being Red Rocks," Olney said. "We’re definitely trying to make it a little bit more flexible and creative in terms of who we’d bring into the stadium here." Olney even tossed out the idea of the Colorado Symphony performing on the field one day.
