This week, the Colorado Symphony announced the music of John Williams at Red Rocks. As a score writer — Williams is most widely recognized for his music in classic films. Accompanied by resident conductor Christopher Dragon — the Colorado Symphony will feature selections from Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Superman, Harry Potter and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial on Sunday, May 23 and Tuesday, May 25 at 7 p.m.

Colorado Symphony’s full ensemble will hold its first live performances of 2021 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The orchestra will hold two limited-capacity performances of "The Music of John Williams" on Sunday, May 23 and Tuesday, May 25 at the Colorado amphitheater. Conducted by Colorado Symphony Resident Conductor Christopher Dragon, the performances will feature selections from "Star Wars," "Jurassic Park," "Indiana Jones," "Superman," "Harry Potter," "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial" and more.

As COVID-19 cancelled hundreds of concerts across the country, the Colorado Symphony paved the way just 10 days into the pandemic by releasing a recording of “Ode to Joy” that included dozens of sheltered musicians and was viewed nearly 600,000 times around the world. And it was the Symphony that managed to first bring live music back to Red Rocks later in the summer with a series of acoustic string ensemble concerts that were limited to 175 masked and distanced audiences.
