The Colorado Symphony Association (CSA) is pleased to announce a limited continuation of rehearsal and recording operations in Boettcher Concert Hall, without audiences, throughout winter and early spring 2021, which will include performances to honor Brett Mitchell’s tenure with the orchestra, including the last four as Music Director. After five seasons as part of the orchestra's artistic leadership Mitchell will leave the post on June 30, 2021.

The Colorado Symphony announces a contract extension for Resident Conductor Christopher Dragon through the 2023-24 concert season, ending June 30, 2024. Dragon, who previously served as Associate Conductor for four seasons starting in 2015-16, was named Resident Conductor and given a two-year contract prior to the 2019-20 season. This renewal and extension of contract begins July 1, 2021.  

“It’s an absolute honor to have this opportunity to remain part of a world-class orchestra like the Colorado Symphony,” said Dragon. “I look forward to working with the tremendous musicians and staff of the organization moving forward as we look to come back stronger than ever once we are able to resume pre-COVID-19-restricted concert operations in Boettcher Concert Hall.” 

The Colorado Symphony Association (CSA) is pleased to announce that they’ve received an anonymous substantial gift that will allow the organization to continue compensating its musicians and staff through June 2021 in addition to continued full coverage of healthcare benefits, despite the fact the orchestra cannot perform live. The anonymous gift bolsters the CSA’s record end-of-calendar-year fundraising. In December alone, the CSA raised over $2.5 million in funds to be used in maintaining the ensemble and staff as preparations are made for post-health pandemic operations.

The Colorado Symphony Association (CSA) is pleased to announce A Virtual Colorado Christmas on the Virtual Stage, the latest content release through the Colorado Symphony’s on demand digital video gateway, available on ColoradoSymphony.org. This virtual event will debut on Colorado Symphony Virtual Stage on December 18 and is accessible for $15 through ColoradoSymphony.org throughout the holiday season.

The Colorado Symphony and the Mexican Cultural Center announces Latin Beats: Sonidos de las Americas, a two-part news special and concert in partnership with the  Telemundo Denver. Featuring a prestigious collection of local Colorado artists including Raquel Garcia, Emilia Zepeda Yanez, Jeanette Trujillo-Lucero, Rumbatea, ArtistiCO, and Mariachi Champaña Nevin from San Diego, this two-part special will air on Noticiero Telemundo Denver at 5:00 p.m. MST on Saturday, November 28 and Sunday, November 29.  It will be simultaneously live-streamed on TelemundoDenver.com. The Colorado Symphony, Mexican Cultural Center and Telemundo Denver will push to the event through their available social media channels, and the series will also be available on the TelemundoDenver.com community page through February 2021.
