Transportation & Parking

Boettcher Concert Hall is located at the southwest end of the Denver Performing Arts Complex (DPAC) at 14th & Curtis Streets in the heart of downtown Denver. It's easy to find and there are two large parking garages to the east and west of the DPAC. There are often multiple performances happening at the the same time, which leads to traffic congestion and lines for the parking garages—be sure to leave plenty of time to ensure an on-time arrival. We don't want you to miss any of the music!

PARKING NOTICE: Effective January 1, 2018, parking rates will be increased at the Denver Performing Arts Complex (DPAC) to address changing market conditions and to meet increased demand for the parking facility. Visit the Parking tab below to learn more.

We strongly encourage alternate forms of transportation.

Rideshare is suggested as a convenient alternative to parking downtown Denver before your event. Popular services are application-based, like Lyft and Uber, and require the use of a cellular device. They are an easy way to quickly request and pay for your transportation to and from an event.
     - Designated drop off for ride-sharing services is in front of the Ellie Caulkins Opera House Studio Loft on 14th Street. ‚Äč

PARKING INCREASE NOTIFICATION (EFFECTIVE JAN 1, 2018)
Below is a message from the City of Denver-Parking & Mobility Services Denver Public Works, the department that manages the DPAC parking garage:

As downtown Denver continues to thrive as a premier regional destination for residential, business, and entertainment activities, demand from patrons, employees and the general public has increased at the Denver Performing Arts Complex’s (DPAC’s) public on-site parking garage.  Rates at DPAC have not kept up with the area’s market off-street parking rates leading to access and occupancy challenges.

To address changing market conditions and to meet increased demand for the parking facility at the Denver Performing Arts Complex (DPAC), parking rates will be increased January 1, 2018.

  • Pre-paid event parking rates will increase to $12 (Monday through Thursday) and to $15 (Friday through Sunday).
  • The entire “hourly” rate schedule (non-event rates) in the public garage will increase by $1.  For example, currently, parking 1 to 2 hours costs $6, after January 1st, 1 to 2 hours will cost $7.

The rate increases were also precipitated by the following:

Covering Costs

  • New services associated with managing the parking facility have significantly increased over the recent years without an associated increase in garage rates to offset those costs.  These services include Denver Police traffic control, private garage security, parking attendant labor costs, enhancements to garage technology, etc.
  • The aging parking facility has needed more structural repairs in recent years to ensure its useful life is safely achieved

Better Management

  • Downtown Denver’s broader Theatre District area is thriving with new restaurants and activities resulting in higher use for the garage by the general public
  • The DPAC garage is managed as a public facility (open to more than just patrons of the DPAC facility) and is directed by City leadership to charge area market rates
    • The garage is currently priced below area market rates – determined through detailed rate surveys and analysis
    • Below market rates are creating too much demand on the garage during peak performance times resulting in high occupancy rates and access challenges
    • Increased pricing at DPAC will defuse vehicles to other parking facilities, thus reducing traffic congestion at a single point garage location
  • It has been 8 and 10+ years since there were increases to the event and hourly parking rates respectively
  • New rates will bring DPAC more in line with other downtown entertainment venues, which already have rates upwards of $15 to $25+ per vehicle for events
  • Denver’s Strategic Parking Plan (2010) provides policy direction on when to apply pricing tools in order to address garage demand and improve customer service

Rate adjustments are determined after conducting extensive parking surveys and analysis to determine current area market rates for event parking in the Theatre District.  Over the last eight years rates have been kept flat, however, with increasing occupancy and access challenges, rate adjustments are necessary to ensure we can best manage the garage to remain a convenient location for customers and the Complex.
