Music lovers and craft beer enthusiasts, mark your calendars! The Colorado Symphony is thrilled to announce, “Beethoven and Brews at the ‘Plex,” set to take place on July 13, 2024. This unique fusion of classical music and craft beer will feature an expansive beer festival in Denver’s Sculpture Park with booths featuring a number of Colorado’s best local breweries, followed by two spellbinding performances in Boettcher Concert Hall. Must be 21+ years of age to attend.
The event will begin with a pre-concert beer festival in scenic Sculpture Park next door to Boettcher Concert Hall from 4:00-6:00pm, where attendees can enjoy unlimited sample pours from a number of Colorado’s favorite local and national breweries. From hoppy IPAs to rich stouts and refreshing lagers, attendees will have the chance to explore an exciting selection of flavors while mingling with fellow music and beer enthusiasts. Full size beers and food from on-site food trucks will also be available for purchase.
Attendees can also compete in a spirited stein holding competition, with winners receiving tickets to future Colorado Symphony performances. Attendees purchasing VIP tickets will have exclusive access to limited release beers and special shaded seating areas in Sculpture Park, while also receiving a commemorative laminated badge.
Following the outdoor festival, patrons will enter Boettcher Concert Hall, where the Colorado Symphony, under the baton of Resident Conductor Christopher Dragon, will take the stage. The orchestra will present a captivating program featuring selections from Beethoven’s masterworks, including symphonies, overtures, and other iconic compositions that have shaped the classical music landscape with Principal Horn Michael Thornton as featured soloist. The concert will include an hour-long intermission, allowing attendees to mingle with Colorado Symphony musicians and enjoy additional sample pours in Sculpture Park between sets.
“We are thrilled to bring together two beloved art forms, music and craft beer, in a unique and exciting event,” said Mark Cantrell, President and CEO of the Colorado Symphony. “Beethoven and Brews at the ‘Plex will offer a one-of-a-kind experience, combining the power and emotion of Beethoven’s music with the creativity and craftsmanship of local breweries. It promises to be an unforgettable summer evening in downtown Denver.”
Beethoven and Brews at the ‘Plex is not only a celebration of musical excellence and craftsmanship but also a testament to the vibrant arts and culture scene in Denver. The event aims to create a dynamic and engaging experience that appeals to a diverse audience, bridging the gap between classical music enthusiasts and beer lovers, fostering new connections, and expanding cultural horizons.
