Small Ensemble Visits are currently unavailable due to COVID restrictions.
A Colorado Symphony small ensemble will visit your school to present a program of music integrated with language arts, math or science. Choose from the options below, including available program combinations that can serve all grades.
Programs for Pre-K – Grade 2
Once Upon A Time
These storytelling programs introduce students to classical music, instruments, or the orchestra, and support language arts instruction. Programs include: Aesop Times Two – The Tortoise and the Hare, The Boy Who Cried Wolf, The Steadfast Tin Soldier, and Audrey and the Amazing Violin.
Grade 3 – Grade 5
Once Upon A Time
These storytelling programs introduce students to classical music, instruments, or the orchestra, and support language arts instruction. Programs include: Tungi and the Giant (African Folktale) and Paul Bunyan (A Tall Tale with Music).
Music of Life
An imaginative integrated arts program highlighting the relationships between music and life sciences. Eco-systems and metamorphosis are combined with music concepts of theme and variations, and melodic development. This program combines well with Once Upon a Time: Aesop Times Two for Grades Pre K-2, at no extra cost.
Mathnotes
An innovative and popular integrated arts program highlighting the relationships between music and mathematics. Teachers receive preparation materials prior to the performance. This program combines well with Once Upon a Time: A Steadfast Tin Soldier for Grades Pre K-2, at no extra cost.
Grade 6 – Grade 12
Supermusic!
In this engaging program, students learn how composers effectively use leitmotif, themes, textures, and rhythms to support film and television narratives. This program features music of such great film composers as John Williams, Klaus Badelt, Howard Shore, and Danny Elfman.
