Dr. Julie Strom (she/her) is the Manager of Orchestra Personnel at the Colorado Symphony where she enjoys collaborating with both staff and musicians. A graduate of The Manhattan School of Music and a two-time recipient of the Fulbright Scholarship (Munich, Germany), Julie has played on Broadway and with orchestras nationally and internationally, including with the Munich Symphonic Orchestra, Munich Chamber Orchestra, Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, Toronto Concert Orchestra, and Colorado Symphony. Julie previously served as the Assistant Professor of Percussion at the University of Northern Colorado and has guest lectured at UCLA, Florida State University, CU Boulder and Clemson University. Her academic writing has been published in Percussive Notes and her published dissertation Theater Percussion: Developing a Twenty-First-Century Genre Through the Connection of Visual, Dramatic, and Percussive Arts can be found online. She is an endorsed Marimba One Artist. Julie enjoys the administrative behind-the-scenes work of bringing symphonic music to life and is proud to work at the Colorado Symphony! She lives with her wife and son in Denver.
