Alessandra Jennings Flanagan

Alessandra Jennings Flanagan (she/her) joined the Colorado Symphony in 2015 as Fixed 3rd Chair/Second Violin. Ms. Flanagan is a graduate of the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, where she completed her Master of Music and Bachelor of Music degrees in violin performance with Sergiu Luca. Previous teachers include Raphael Fliegel, Camilla Wicks, Kenneth Goldsmith and Stephanie Sant’ Ambrogio.
Ms. Flanagan was a founding member of the Basmati String Quartet, which won the Grand Prize at the Coleman Chamber Ensemble Competition and Second Place at the Fischoff International Chamber Music Competition.
Alessandra was previously Associate Principal Second Violin of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra from 2006 – 2010. She has held former posts in the Houston Grand Opera and Ballet Orchestras, and the Radio City Music Hall Orchestra. She has held faculty positions at the University of Texas at Arlington, the Calhoun School, Third Street Music School Settlement, and Belvoir Terrace Performing Arts Camp.
Alessandra joined the Colorado Symphony in 2015 as Fixed 3rd Chair Second Violin. She and her husband have two sons and are grateful to call Colorado home.
