  • Allegra Wermuth joined the Colorado Symphony in September 2003.
  • She holds degrees from Oberlin Conservatory and Northern Illinois University.

Allegra (she/here) received her Bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance from Oberlin Conservatory and her Master’s degree in Violin Performance and Pedagogy from Northern Illinois University, where she studied with Roland and Almita Vamos and Shmuel Ashkenasi, respectively.

 Allegra joined the Colorado Symphony  in 2003 as Assistant Principal Second Violin. Since then she has made Golden, CO her home with her daughter and maintains a large private home teaching studio. She has performed as soloist and chamber music throughout the Denver Metro Area.

With over 30 years of teaching experience, Allegra has had students continue their studies at schools such as Cleveland Institute of Music, University of Michigan, Colburn School of Music, Curtis Institute, Lawrence University, Oberlin Conservatory, University of Puget Sound, and University of Colorado at Boulder, among many others. 

​Besides her work as a violinist, Allegra is a teen life coach, a yoga practitioner and teacher, 500 hr RYT, and teaches yoga regularly at Pranatonic in downtown Golden, CO.
