Watch: A Trombone, A Looping Pedal And A Colorful Collage Of Sound

Colorado Symphony principal trombonist John Sipher surprised us with a piece he composed for trombone and looping pedal. Sipher plays a few bars on his instrument, lets the loop pedal record it and play it back, and then adds more intricate layers over the original pattern. The music includes unusual beatboxing and a wall of gorgeous harmonies in the piece's surprisingly tender later passages.

Colorado Symphony Teams Up With Boy Band Hanson

Remember the boy band Hanson? Its members, who got their start in the early 90s, aren't boys anymore. And their most recent partnerships with orchestras nationwide prove it. Hanson toured the world last year to mark its 25th anniversary; this year, to celebrate 26, the group is presenting the Hanson String Theory and sharing stages with orchestras around the country, including the Colorado Symphony.

Yo-Yo Ma Launches International Tour of Bach’s Cello Suites at Red Rocks

Yo-Yo Ma is coming to Denver. The Paris hailing musician known for breathtaking collaborations and unmatched instrumentals just announced a Red Rocks visit, and it's going to be off the cello. The performance is hosted by The Colorado Symphony and will bring J.S. Bach's unaccompanied complete cello suite to Denver for one night.
