The Colorado Symphony has been going through a bit of a rebirth recently. Among their 150 yearly performances, they've added events to target a new, much younger crowd. At the helm of this rebirth now is music director Brett Mitchell, who began his tenure in September of 2017. New to Denver, Brett led Cleveland, Houston, and Saginaw Bay in Michigan symphonies prior to heading west and landing in Denver. Brett met us at the new FNG to share more about his off-stage persona.

Seal will play Red Rocks this year with the Colorado Symphony

We're only three months away from the start of Red Rocks season and the venue is still full-speed ahead with announcements. This morning, AEG Presents Rocky Mountains shared the news that Seal will perform with the Colorado Symphony at Red Rocks this summer. Slated for July 15, the show will also feature opening support from Corinne Bailey Rae.

Recordings will be available at the Colorado Symphony Guild Shop inside Gallery 1 in Boettcher Concert Hall, open before most performances. "The Raven" will also be available for direct digital download through iTunes and Amazon.

Brett Mitchell is in his first year as director of music, and has helped bring in new tunes - like the sounds of Star Wars or Harry Potter. He also brought in a new face: Steve Staeger. Steve - a super Star Wars fan - checked a major item off his bucket list Wednesday and stepped in for Mitchell. Steve conducted the orchestra as they played the famous score, and well, you just have to see it for yourself.
