Colorado Symphony Announces 10 New Acoustic On The Rocks Performances

COLORADO SYMPHONY ANNOUNCES 10 NEW ACOUSTIC ON THE ROCKS PERFORMANCES 
The Colorado Symphony returns to Red Rocks August 12– 16 for an encore run of Acoustic on the Rocks performances featuring the Colorado Symphony Strings; New set of performances announced for August 19 – 23 featuring the Colorado Symphony Brass and Percussion Ensembles 

Aug 7, 2020 – Denver, CO – Back by popular demand, the Colorado Symphony announces 10 new performances of Acoustic on the Rocks conducted by Resident Conductor Christopher Dragon at Red Rock Park & Amphitheatre.

The Acoustic on the Rocks series, which debuted July 29 – August 2, continues with five encore performances from August 12 – 16, 2020. These performances will mirror the first set of Acoustic on the Rocks concerts featuring breathtaking works from Mozart, Tchaikovsky, and more, while showcasing the virtuosity of twenty Colorado Symphony string musicians in front of socially distanced and limited capacity crowds. These concerts, which sold out in just a few hours, were the first at Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre since the onset of COVID-19.

In addition, the Colorado Symphony announces a brand-new set of five Acoustic on the Rocks performances featuring Colorado Symphony Brass & Percussion ensembles in five limited-seating performances from August 19 – 23, 2020. These performances will feature 19 musicians led by Christopher Dragon, for an evening of incredible classical and pops repertoire in a live acoustic performance at Colorado’s most iconic outdoor music venue.

The repertoire for the August 12-16 performances is below. The repertoire for the August 19-23 performances will be announced from stage.

MOZART Divertimento in D Major, K. 136
WALKER Lyric for Strings
BARTÓK Romanian Folk Dances
TCHAIKOVSKY Serenade for Strings

Each of these programs will be 75 minutes in length and will not have an intermission. Total ticket sales will be limited to each performance and audiences will be seated in a socially distanced setup throughout the Amphitheatre seating bowl. Households will be allowed to sit together, and must adhere to Red Rocks Amphitheatre event attendance guidelines, including the following:

  • Facial coverings are required to be worn by all patrons in order to enter the venue and are required to be worn while moving throughout the venue in a socially distanced manner.
  • Physical distancing of at least six feet is required between disassociated groups from the time of arrival until departure.
  • If you are feeling sick do not attend the concert.
  • Ticket purchase information may be used for contact tracing in the event it is needed for your safety.
