COLORADO SYMPHONY ANNOUNCES CINCO DE MAYO FIESTA PARA LA FAMILIA & GARIBALDI PLAZA
Garibaldi Plaza celebration takes place from 12-2 p.m. Colorado Symphony Concert begins at 2:30 p.m.

April 15, 2019 – Denver, CO – Join your Colorado Symphony and the Mexican Cultural Center on Cinco de Mayo for a celebration of the rich cultural heritage that makes our community so unique. The day begins with a Garibaldi Plaza celebration in the Denver Performing Arts Complex Galleria and culminates with Cinco de Mayo Fiesta Family Concert at Boettcher Concert Hall.

Special surprises and more are in store with special activities for all ages highlighting Mexican culture, music, and regional dancing, this will be a true family affair.

The Garibaldi Plaza celebration is hosted by the Colorado Symphony Association in partnership with the Mexican Cultural Center and is free and open to the public. This pre-concert, two-hour Garibaldi Plaza celebration features local Mariachi and Folklorico talent in the Denver Performing Arts Complex Galleria from 12-2 p.m. Local food carts with authentic Mexican food and beverages will be available.

Featured local musical performances will include MSU Denver Mariachi Correcaminos, Mariachi de la Luna, Mariachi Corazon de Oro, Mariachi Femenil Alma del Folklore, and Nueva Escuela de Musica Banda 2. Featured local dance performances will be presented by Ballet Folklorico Reina de la paz, Fiesta Colorado Ballet, Folklorico Baile Caliente, Baila Conmigo International Dance, and Grupo Folklorico Semblanzas De Mexico.

The Garibaldi Plaza celebration takes place just before the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta Family concert with the Colorado Symphony at Boettcher Concert Hall beginning at 2:30 p.m. Musical selections will include Jarabe Taptio, Son de la Negra, La Lorona, and Cietlo Lindo, among many others.

The Cinco de Mayo Fiesta Family Concert with the Colorado Symphony is a paid event. Tickets can be purchased at coloradosymphony.org and range in price from $10-$25.
