COLORADO SYMPHONY PRESENTS BEETHOVEN AND BREWS AT THE ‘PLEX
Enjoy pre-concert beverages in Sculpture Park with music from a Colorado Symphony small ensemble followed by a full concert of selections from Beethoven’s legendary catalog in Boettcher Concert Hall.
May 6, 2025 – Denver, CO – Music lovers and craft beer enthusiasts, mark your calendars! The Colorado Symphony is thrilled to announce the return of Beethoven and Brews at the ‘Plex, set to take place on September 6, 2025. This unique fusion of classical music and craft beer will feature an expansive beer festival in Denver’s Sculpture Park with booths featuring a number of Colorado’s best local breweries, followed by a spellbinding performance in Boettcher Concert Hall. Must be 21+ years of age to attend.
The event will begin with a pre-concert beer festival in scenic Sculpture Park next door to Boettcher Concert Hall from 4:00-6:00pm, where attendees can enjoy unlimited sample pours from a number of Colorado’s favorite local and national breweries while listening to popular music selections from a Colorado Symphony ensemble. From hoppy IPAs to rich stouts and refreshing lagers, attendees will have the chance to explore an exciting selection of flavors while mingling with fellow music and beer enthusiasts. Participating breweries include Left Hand Brewing, Ratio Beerworks, Black Sky Brewery, Elizabeth Brewing, Konstruct Brewing, Milieu Fermentation, Wackadoo Brewing, and more. Full size beers and food from on-site food trucks will also be available for purchase. Attendees can also compete in a spirited stein holding competition, with winners receiving tickets to future Colorado Symphony performances.
Following the outdoor festival, patrons will enter Boettcher Concert Hall, where the Colorado Symphony, under the baton of Resident Conductor Christopher Dragon, will take the stage. The orchestra will present a captivating program featuring selections from Beethoven’s illustrious catalogue including his Egmont Overture, Romance No. 1 and 2 with Principal Second Violin Kate Arndt as featured soloist, and the iconic Fifth Symphony, along with other compositions that have shaped the classical music landscape. The concert will include an hour-long intermission, allowing attendees to mingle with Colorado Symphony musicians and enjoy additional sample pours in Sculpture Park between sets.
“We are thrilled to bring together two beloved art forms, music and craft beer, in a unique and exciting event for the third year in a row,” said Anthony Pierce, Chief Artistic Officer of the Colorado Symphony. “Beethoven and Brews at the ‘Plex offers a one-of-a-kind experience, combining the power and emotion of Beethoven’s music with the creativity and craftsmanship of local breweries.
