Gregory Alan Isakov to Join DeVotchKa and the Colorado Symphony at Red Rocks

DENVER – March 11, 2014 – The Colorado Symphony’s is thrilled to announce that Gregory Alan Isakov will join the orchestra for a special evening at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on July 17 at 7:30 pm. A highlight of the Symphony on the Rocks series, Isakov joins a line-up that features DeVotchKa in a one-night-only return to Red Rocks.

Building on a highly successful creative collaboration with the Colorado Symphony last fall, Isakov will bring his award-winning indie-folk music center stage. Isakov will perform with his band as well as the entire Colorado Symphony, sharing original orchestral arrangements of Isakov’s music, including songss from his critically-acclaimed 2013 release The Weatherman. Isakov’s performance with the Colorado Symphony sold out Boettcher Concert Hall last November, and was critically hailed by The Denver Post, Westword and Colorado Public Radio. Original arrangements for Isakov and orchestra were created by DeVotchKa’s Tom Hagerman.

The July 17 concert exemplifies the Colorado Symphony’s committment to building meaningful artistic partnerships with the most exciting Colorado-based contemporary artists. The concert will mark the fourth time that the Colorado Symphony and DeVotchKa have shared a stage. Westword described the combination of the Colorado Symphony, DeVotchKa and Red Rocks as “total bliss.”
