Stephanie Derybowski (she/her) has nearly 20 years of experience in the performing arts and classical music industries. She began working for the Colorado Symphony in 2014, bringing her skills and experience with non-profit/arts management, graphic design, and CRM tools to several roles within the sales and marketing departments. With a passion for excellence in patron experience and brand consistency, Stephanie has elevated the orchestra’s digital footprint with countless improvements and upgrades to email communications, social media, the Tessitura database, and the Colorado Symphony website, including a major redevelopment in 2022. Her vision has pushed the organization to evolve with new website features, technologies, and styling that create a clearer path for patrons to navigate, resulting in more conversions and record-setting earned revenue.
She is currently the Director of Web Experience, overseeing Tessitura which powers all ticketing and donations through the website and the box office. Stephanie directs all builds for events, subscription packages, and promotions within the application and on the website, in addition to data analytics, reporting, user support, season maintenance, and upgrades. She also oversees WordPress maintenance including SEO, content updates, developer management, and is additional IT support for database hardware and internal applications.
As a member of the LGBTQ+ community and often a lone woman in the IT realm, Stephanie is a key advocate for DEAI and has been integral in creating a more collaborative culture where diverse voices can be a part of decision-making. Together with the entire Marketing team, they’ve created a wholistic, more-informed approach to goal-setting and strategic planning. As a result, Stephanie also works collaboratively on art direction, budgeting, plus marketing, advertising, and organizational strategies. Additionally, Stephanie is the founding member of both the Colorado and the LGBTQIA+ Tessitura User Groups.
Prior to moving to Colorado, Stephanie worked over a decade with the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir, first as Operations Manager and then as Design & Communications Specialist, where she gained immense skills in event operations, marketing and communications strategies, donor relations, website and database management, and graphic design. Highlights of her time there include managing an international performance tour of 100+ musicians through Beijing, Shanghai, and Xi’an, featuring performances at the Great Wall of China and at the 2010 World Expo. In 2012, she participated in and helped coordinate a once-in-a-lifetime performance with Madonna at the Super Bowl XLVI Halftime Show.
Stephanie grew up in the suburbs of Chicago where music and the arts were always an integral part of her life. She began piano and voice lessons at a young age, pursued flute and vocal performance in both high school and college, and ultimately earned a Bachelor’s degree in Arts Administration from Butler University. In search of a new creative outlet, she discovered an interest in design and holds a certificate in graphic design from the Art Institute of Indianapolis. Stephanie is now an experienced graphic designer with a diverse portfolio including major marketing pieces like season brochures, tour brochures, annual reports, large-scale event invitations, logos, book cover art, and a robust archive of performing arts marketing assets.
Nowadays, Stephanie enjoys sunny Denver with her wife, Lindsay, wiener dog, Sebastian, and spicy cat, Trinity “the fluff” (IYKYK). Most notably, she is the human of Wolfie, former Director of Barketing for the Colorado Symphony.
