Aspen McArthur

Assistant Librarian

  • Colorado Symphony Assistant Librarian since 2025
  • Holds a Bachelor of Music from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music

Aspen brings over a decade of experience in orchestra librarianship and artistic planning to the Colorado Symphony, most recently serving with the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra. She holds a degree in viola performance from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, where she studied with Stephen Wyrczynski. During her time at Jacobs, Aspen discovered her passion for orchestral librarianship while working in the performance library under the guidance of Mariel Stauff. Following graduation, Aspen continued her training as an Orchestra Librarian Fellow with the Philadelphia Orchestra and later with the New World Symphony in Miami, Florida, where she was mentored by Martha Levine.

Over the years, Ms. McArthur worked as an orchestra librarian for the Houston Symphony, Houston Grand Opera, Aspen Music Festival and School, Interlochen Center for the Arts, and Tanglewood Music Center. When she’s not poring over scores and orchestral materials, Aspen loves baking cakes, painting watercolors, and hiking throughout Colorado with her husband, Lee, their newborn son, Theo, and rescue dog, Max.
