The Colorado Symphony 5K Run/Walk Returns September 20

Presented by St. Anthony’s Hospital

DENVER, CO – June 24, 2014 – The Colorado Symphony kicks off its 2014/15 season with a 5K Run/Walk at Sloan’s Lake on Saturday, September 20, 2014. Building on the success of last year’s event, which drew more than 1,000 participants, the Colorado Symphony Run/Walk is a fun and interactive fundraiser for the Colorado Symphony, the largest professional orchestra in the Rocky Mountain West.Colorado Symphony musicians and CEO/Co-Chair Jerry Kern will be among the participants hitting the course.

The Colorado Symphony 5K Run/Walk is presented by St. Anthony’s Hospital and is sponsored by Delta Dental and the Colorado SymphonyGuild.

The event brings a musical twist to the 5K experience, with a variety of ensembles performing along the course as well as a finish-line concert from Colorado Symphony musicians. Though participants can leave their headphones at home, they’re welcome to bring kids, including babies in strollers, as well as dogs. Costumes are encouraged.

Each registration includes a free ticket to a Colorado Symphony performance in the 2013/2014 Season. (Some exclusions apply.)

Registration is now open for teams and individuals at www.cosymphony5k.com. Participants are encouraged to generate pledges of support for their teams; top fundraisers will receive recognition and special prizes during a post-race awards ceremony.

Advanced adult registration is $35 and day-of registration is $40. Kids (12-and-under), Seniors (60-and-over) and Veterans may register for $25 throughout the registration period.

Early packet pickup is available on Friday, September 19 from 10 am to 6 pm at the Colorado Symphony Box Office (1000 14th St., No. 15 Denver, CO 80202). Patrons who pick up their packets on Friday are welcome to redeem their free Colorado Symphony ticket voucher for theColorado Symphony’s September 19 concert at Boettcher Concert Hall, featuring Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, conducted by Music Director Andrew Litton. Space is limited.
