June 23, 2015 – Video Games Live™ and the Colorado Symphony are excited to announce The Ultimate Gamer V.I.P. Backstage Experience Package, special guest conductors, performers, interactive partners OhHeckYeah, and world premieres of new video game scores for the Aug. 5 concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
Limited V.I.P. Experience tickets* will go on sale Tuesday, June 30, with a pre-sale to current ticketholders prior to being offered to the general public. The Ultimate Gamer V.I.P. Backstage Experience Package* includes early admission to the concert and a behind-the-scenes tour with Video Games Live™ creator and video game legend Tommy Tallarico. V.I.P. ticketholders receive front-of-the-line access to the post-show meet-and-greet with performers and special guests along with a V.I.P. package of exclusive merchandise.
Video Games Live™ with the Colorado Symphony will be conducted by Principle Video Games Live™ Conductor Emmanuel Fratianni, with special guest conductors Russell Brower, Blizzard Entertainment audio director and composer; Austin Wintory, a Colorado native debuting the world premiere of the latest installment of The Banner Saga franchise; and Christopher Tin, a two-time Grammy®-winning composer.
Special guest performers include multitalented vocalist and soloist for flute and piano Laura Intravia; Peter McConnell, a video game composer and musician best known through his work at LucasArts; Clint Bajakian, a video game composer and guitarist; and Tallarico, also a guitarist as well as the concert’s host and the Video Games Live™ creator.
OhHeckYeah is proud to partner with the Colorado Symphony and Video Games Live™ to enhance concertgoers’ experience with live video game demonstrations and special surprises. OhHeckYeah is a public benefit corporation that uses the power of play to strengthen the social, physical and economic fabric of place.
The evening includes world premieres of new compositions for Grim Fandango and the Broken Age, with original composer Peter McConnell; Chrono Trigger & Chrono Cross piano tribute; and The Banner Saga 2 with original composer Austin Wintory. The Colorado Symphony will record The Banner saga 2 this fall.
